Things to consider when choosing a wedding venue

After the heady delirium of those first few days where you just can’t stop smiling, your thoughts will turn to planning your wedding and all the delightful and exciting decisions that need to me made.

One of the earliest and perhaps most influential decisions you’ll make is selecting a wedding venue. Things to consider when choosing a wedding venue:

 

How many guests would you like to invite?

This is a good place to start as depending on your number, it will instantly rule out a number of wedding venues that either can’t accommodate your number of guests or would dwarf them – it’s hard to create atmosphere if you’re rattling around in a massive venue.

Pendrell Hall Country House Wedding Venue is perfect for weddings where the guest numbers fall anywhere between 20 to 170, as we only ever put out the right amount of furniture and have a choice of gorgeous rooms we can utilise.

 

Civil Ceremony or Church Wedding?

If you’d like a relaxed and very personal wedding ceremony where you have the opportunity to write your own promises and make each other smile with your choice of contemporary or classical music to suit, then you’ll need a licensed wedding venue.

Pendrell Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies and we’re very lucky to have a number of delightful churches nearby, details of which can be found on our website.

 

Close to home or centrally located?

Whatever your preferred location consider that guests don’t mind travelling when there’s the option to stay overnight at the wedding venue, the route is via main roads with easy access from the motorway and they love you!

Pendrell Hall is perfect if you’re looking for wedding venues in Birmingham and the surrounding areas of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and the West Midlands. The Pendrell Hall Estate is in Codsall Wood, Staffordshire, less than 10 miles from Junction 12 of the M6.

 

Would you like to get married outside?

If you’d like to experience the whisper of a gentle breeze and the warmth of the sun on your skin as you exchange vows, then you need to find a wedding venue licensed for outdoor weddings.

Outdoor weddings are available at Pendrell Hall from the beginning of May to the end of August and our wet-weather plan will ensure nothing dampens your incredible wedding day.

 

Do you want guests to stay overnight?

If you love the idea of your wedding guests really letting their hair down at your evening reception, packing that dance floor and generally having an amazing time at your wedding; then you might want to look for a wedding venue with accommodation. There’s nothing like knowing you’ve only got a few steps to bed at the end of the night, to encourage proper ‘party’ behaviour! You also get the added benefit of enjoying breakfast with everyone the following morning.

Pendrell Hall offers wedding night accommodation for the Bride and Groom and up to sixty guests.

 

Would you like to provide your own drinks?

Whether you have a deep appreciation for fine wines, a passion for Pimms or a yearning for artisan ales on your wedding day, look for a ‘no corkage’ wedding venue and you can provide all your own daytime drinks without incurring any unpalatable corkage charges.

Pendrell Hall is a no corkage wedding venue.

 

Is food the second greatest love of your life?

Maybe you fell in love over a plate of pasta, laughed over langoustine on holiday or sizzled with more than just chilli when you shared a Mexican; food often plays a role in how couples meet and if you want your wedding breakfast to reflect your love of food you’ll need a wedding venue with an imaginative and experienced wedding caterer who’ll let you design your own wedding menu.
